On my old PC, within the Connect to Server window, my PC name would appear in the Server name drop-down box and I would use this. My basic problem is that the application seems to install OK, and I can open it but I can't connect to any server, or even get it to recognise any server. At work we're now upgrading to newer machines & I'm trying to install the application & set it up on my new PC (Windows XP Professional SP2), but with no luck. I've been using SQL Server Management Studio Express for about a year on my old PC (Windows 2000 SP2).
